1540 W COURT

The Court Residences at 1540 W Court Street in Echo Park presents one of the most compelling design
challenges in KTA’s portfolio — a steeply sloping hillside site that demanded a solution as thoughtful as it
was technically rigorous. Rather than treating the topography as an obstacle, Kevin Tsai Architecture
embraced it as a generative design opportunity, developing a building massing that steps with the natural grade.

The result is a seven-story, 72,000 sq ft structure that integrates seamlessly into the
hillside fabric of Echo Park, avoiding the imposing presence that a conventional podium approach would
have created.
